My baby rabbit Nami passed away yesterday. It been a very painful day. She had been a very sweetest friend of mine. I know I will miss the sound she makes when she runs around on the wooden floor *knock knock knock*.. I miss her always lay down next to my feet, miss her always follow me around... It been a very happy 6 years, she helped me to go through all these depressions I had. I will always miss u

Oil Blotting Sheets

I decided to make this post since I have read few polls about your fave oil blotting sheet on MUA recently. As an oily gal, oil blotting sheet is totally a must to keep around hands 24/7. Though I have not (yea.. remember I said NOT) tried any of those HE blotting sheet like MAC, Clinique... simply as I believe ~ Why do blotting sheets have to cost so much??!

My HG is the Gatsby oil clear sheet (in plastic form). I have been using it for over 10 years. Gatsby is actually a cosmetic brand from Japan. I'm sure they are very well known in Asia, though not many American store carry them. So far I have only seen it in that Japanese market in NJ and Sunrise Mart @ St. Mark, NY (around NYU). The price tag is pretty friendly. I usually stock it up every time when I go to Hong Kong (or have my brother mail bunch to me from HK). The price in SaSa's Hong Kong stores are usually around HKD$13 (about $1.85 USD). Though you can also order from SaSa.com for less than $3.00 USD.

Gatsby oil sheets come with 3 different styles, but so far I have only tried the powder paper sheet style and regular
plastic sheet style. The powder sheet style is not bad, the size of the paper is actually nearly the double size of the plastic style. I usually only need 1 sheet to absorb most of the oil on my face and they are not that easy to break like many other paper style blotting sheets. Though I found that the plastic style is stronger compare to the powder style.

As I have mentioned, my HG is the plastic style. Most of the time, I only need 1 sheet to absorb all of the oil off my face. And it is pretty much non-breakable unless you really try to pull it apart very hard I guess.
Clean & Clear is the most common brand in the US. You can find it at nearly any drugstore. But the price tag isn't as friendly as Gatsby, usually priced at about $5 USD and only comes with 50 sheets per pack (Gatsby comes with 70 sheets). As of the size, C&C is slightly smaller and thinner compare to Gatsby.

As a bonus, I have received a pack of the blotting paper from Everyday Minerals during my last large order. I believe this blotting paper has been d/ced from EDM. So it was nice enough of them to included it in the shipment for free. However, I did not like this blotting sheet much though. It is a somewhat shiny paper style blotting sheet. I found it very thin that I might break it if I press too hard. It actually remind me of some cheapo napkin.. lol

A very tired weekend

I do realized that I'm usually much tired during the weekend mainly because of work as I work the night shift on Friday (usually get home around 10.30pm). And then the next day I will have to get up at 6 to get to work by 8am *sigh* Same thing on Sunday... and weekend I usually work full time, 10 hours shift~

Though the most stressful thing is my rabbit Nami has developed sore hocks again. I have been trying to treat it with antibiotic cream already, though I don't see any major improvement yet. I guess it just gonna takes time, at least I know she is feeling a lot better right now anyway.

Dermstore Hual

Yadda Yadda!!! I finally received my very 1st dermstore package yesterday!!! I accidentally put the wrong zip code on the shipping address, so my package has been lost in the lala land for a few days. So glad it finally found it way to here :]

So... here I ordered an Avene Thermal Spring Water duo set. Which comes with a full size 10.58oz, and a travel size 1.76oz, for $16. I also ordered a TooFaced Flatbuki, for $12.50. I applied the code "reminder", got a $2.50 discount. So the total came to $26 (no tax + free ship!) Which in
deed is a very good deal :] And... I also received a free subscription of Lucky Magz which I'm gonna do a refund instead. So that way I will save another $12 hehe

Muwahhh Baby

Yesterday my baby came pick me up from work... *wink wink* I haven't seen him for a few days. Though it always seems kinda long :P hehe... so yea. I went back to work yesterday, and my coworker who just came back from vegas was sweet enough, bought me a box of chocolate <3 Umm.. seems like my diet plan has to delay a bit eh?!

Aspirin Mask

Aspirin mask is a great way to deep clean your pores, keep your skin smooth and of course.. try to keep the acne away!

  • 3 - 5 Uncoated aspirin pills
  • few drops of Honey
  • A clean plate to create mixture
Direction: Dissolve the aspirins with a few drop of water first. And then mix it with the honey. Leave it on your face for about 10 minutes. Massage and raise off with water. Use this mask about once to twice per week. You will see result shortly.

P.S. Most of the aspirins that are available in the store are usually coated which I found it a bit hard to dissolve. However, CVS.com do carry the uncoated aspirin. 1000 Tbs for $9.99. It really not a bad deal after all. Let's just hope them won't discontinue this product! :] If you don't want to order online, RiteAid's lightly coated aspirins can be dissolved pretty easily as well.

Olive Oil Scrub

This is Olive Oil Scrub recipe, it is good for acne prone skin.

  • 3/4 cup white sugar (brown sugar works great as well)
  • 2 tablespoons unscented liquid soap (Toms of Maine or Dr. Bronners)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 10 drops essential oil (lemon & lime, spearmint, tea tree oil...)
  • mix all these thoroughly and keep in a sealed container

Scoop out a little and scrub your face during shower. It's a nice exfoliant and moisturizer. Will leaves your face smooth and moisturized.

Everyday Minerals Haul! <33

I actually received this haul last week. But I didn't have time to post it till now :P So yeah... I ordered a sample kit of EDM in July and it really got me totally hooked to mineral makeup. Since I'm almost done with my sample, so I decided to place a large order (in order to receive the 45% off) during the reissue party...

Random Thoughts

Monday is my usual day off. I had a busy and kinda stressful weekend at work cos of some asshole customers. And today I didnt do much neither. I got up kinda early, went to Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS and RiteAid to get some *lemmings* but I couldn't find the uncoated aspirins at CVS, so i ended up with a bottle of lightly coated aspirin from RiteAid. I will just crush it with a hammer to make some mask :P

Sephora Friend & Family Sale

Actually I already posted this info on MUA ages ago... but umm whatever :] So today is the first day of the Sephora FF sale, which is supposed to be online only unless you have received a card from employees of Sephora. You can receive 20% off your entire order with the code "2009FF". Sale starts from Oct 19 - Nov 2, 09.

And it was crazy on the MUA board, most of these women were planning to stay up or set their alarm @ 3am (yea our east coast ladies!) to place order on Sephora in case of their fave things went Out of Stock lol Though personally, I have decided to skip the Sephora FF this year as I have already bought too much during the MAC and Urban Decay FF and some others Sephora mini sale :] I feel that I have enough makeup to use for the next few years hehehe

My Mini Fyrinnae Haul

I have been restricted myself to spend less $ on all these makeup recently. Of course, that's gonna be hard! lol I try to keep myself to spend about $20 each week. But last Saturday I placed an order at EDM for nearly $70, and last night I placed a $30 order at Dermstore... :P Sephora FF will start from the 19th this month, though I think I'm gonna skip anyway. So I guess it's ok to spend those extra $ right now hehhe

Anyway... Since I decided to try to do a $20 limit, so there really isn't much option for me. I placed an order on Fyrinnae a lil while ago. And surprisingly, my order came within 2 wks! (Sometimes they could takes nearly a month!) I really love Fyrinnae. They offer many shimmery eyeshadow at $1.75 per sample. And the sample is actually big enough for me to last for months even if I use it daily. But I know I will never use the same thing daily anyway, so I feel that each sample will probably last me like forever. Another big reason why I love their stuff is the color payout of their eyeshadow is very pretty. I did a quite swatch for MUA this morning, though I will try to make a better swatch to put on th
is blog when I have time :]

It had been a very sad day so far

Well... I was really shocked today when I was surfing around on Yahoo. I read an article about Stephen Gately from Boyzone died few days ago. I know, Boyzone isn't well known in the US. But they were really famous in Europe and Asia. They were my fave band back then when I was "younger"... I just can't believe that our lovely Steve is gone. Writing this blog just make me want to cry when I keep thinking about the moment when I met them in Hong Kong. He was so famous, but he was still so sweet and nice to everyone.

RIP STEPHEN. You will always be in my heart.

I'm back!??

It has been a long time since i start to do something online. Years ago I was doing on my website in the old school way with all these HTML written on notepad. So... where have I been all these years? I no longer work on my own site nor digging around on myspace. And all of a sudden, I start to think about maybe i can write my own blog *HA* I know i know.. I'm so late when it comes to blog. But well... I still can't quite figure out how to write blog and post thing here :P *sigh* feeling so old~

As most of you know that, I love to keep everything original and simple. So the background that I chose is a pic that I have taken in 2007, during the Cherry Blossom Festival in BBG. Actually I'm using this same pic in my MySpace profile as well :]

If you need to contact me regarding of anything *good*...
